I've been playing with fiber and other art forms all my life. In 2005,
I bought some felting needles and wool.........and I haven't stopping
felting since.
I live in one of the historic districts in Dayton, Ohio in a "painted
lady" with my husband, my teenage son, 3 dogs, 3 cats, & 1 bird.
Between us, we have 7 more children and 9 grandchildren. At the time
I chose the name Moonrise Studio, we were licensed as therapeutic
foster parents, and had 4 of our kids and 1 grandchild living with us.
By the time I finally had time to work, the moon had definitely risen!
My other interests include photography, sculpture, bookmaking,
writing, gardening, and anything involving fiber. I have a BA in Art
Therapy. I started graduate school, but got sidetracked needle
felting. Currently, I'm trying to rehab part of the 2nd floor into
studio space, writing patterns, creating kits, and home schooling.
