About me...........
I've been playing with fiber and other art forms all my life. About
three years ago, I bought some felting needles and wool.........and I
haven't stopping felting since.

I live in one of the historic districts in Dayton, Ohio in a "painted
lady" with my husband of almost 7 years, my 15 year old son, 3 dogs,
3 cats, 2 birds, 2 rats, and a Siamese fighting fish, Between us, we
have 7 more children (ranging from 21-33) and 8 grandchildren. At
the time I chose the name Moonrise Studio, we were licensed as
therapeutic foster parents and also had 4 of our kids and 1 grandchild
living with us. By the time I finally had time to  work, the moon had
definitely risen!

Besides needle felting, I love to garden. My gardens seem to get a
little bigger each year. ( Last year one of the neighbors told me we'd
never be able to sell the house because no one in their right mind
would want to take care of all the gardens.) The outside looks good
but we are still restoring the inside. The house was built in the 1890's
and when we bought it, the ceilings were all falling down. It is
definitely a work in progress. And a labor of love.........or insanity.
We just spent a year with the only working bathroom on the third
floor.  My current project is setting up studio space on the second
floor.

My other interests include photography, sculpture, bookmaking,
writing, and fiber arts.  I have a BA in Art Therapy and started
graduate school but got sidetracked needle felting.
